The Job:

As an AI developer, you will build AI functionality into Modest Tree’s software applications. Work will be focused on integrating and implementing AI algorithms and logic into the deliverables of our data-driven projects and converting machine learning APIs. As a programmer you would have high problem-solving skills, logic, and the ability to successfully collaborate with others.

You will apply knowledge of advanced analytic algorithms and technologies (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence) to deliver better predictions and/or intelligent automation. You will use strong communication and story-telling skills to summarize statistical/algorithmic findings, draw business conclusions, and present actionable insight in a way that resonates with business/groups. You will drive innovation through the development of Data & AI products that can be leveraged across the organization and establish best practices in alignment with Data & AI governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develops analytical solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.

• Use APIs to build and implement AI applications

• Diagnoses and resolves predictive/analytical model performance issues while monitoring system performance and implementation of efficiency improvements.

• Develops analytical solutions by applying suitable statistical & machine learning techniques (e.g., test and learn, prototype solutions, mathematical models, algorithms, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence) to test, verify, refine hypotheses.

• Shape the Data Science architecture and make technical decisions

Experience & Qualifications

• 5 years+ of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3+ years relevant work experience with building and automating data analytics and Machine Learning (ML) pipelines

• Relevant experience in conducting AI/ML projects

• Expert for being able to define data needed for capture & data volumes

• Working in image object categorization application is a plus.

• Practical experience in applying AI concepts to abstract datasets

• Experience in C# programming

• Experience with Tensorflow and object recognition an asset

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines and/or equivalent experience

• Experience designing and building REST APIs that supports many clients

• Experience of building scalable backend systems using micro-services/cloud architecture

• Deep proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms.

• Strong track record of client work in systems integration or product implementations

• Proven experience in solution architecture implementation – from engineering and software architecture design through to project management

• Sound knowledge of various operating systems, databases and analytics engines

• Exposure and ability to articulate value of different types of data and analytics
