Cable Inspection Simulation

This cable inspection simulation for Jazz Aviation LP was designed to mimic the actual inspections of the Aileron Cables in the Jazz Q400 Aircraft in a safe environment. Using this immersive simulation, Air Canada’s largest regional partner was able to deploy a more detailed training experience that did not require the use of a real aircraft, which would have cost time and maintenance.

Modest Tree modelled this simulation after Jazz Aviation’s standard maintenance manuals and procedures. Students succeed by following the exact instructions described in the standard maintenance manuals, which involve interacting with the Q400 switch panel, removing the Aileron Cable Panel, cleaning the cables, and using a mirror and flashlight to inspect the panel for damage. Damages in the cable(s) are randomized for unique learning experiences. Students can move freely throughout the scene during the learning activity.
