Techsploration’s 2020 Online Alumnae Conference to Run on Modest Tree’s “Distantly”

Halifax, Canada, November 2, 2020 – Distantly, an all-new, purpose-built virtual event platform powered by Modest Tree Media Inc. (Modest Tree), a Halifax-based software development company specializing in the global distribution of digitalization technologies, has been selected by Techsploration as the platform of choice for their 2020 Online Alumnae Conference.

The annual one-day event introduces young women in grades 10 through 12, Techsploration alumnae, and guest students to role models in exciting and challenging careers within the science, engineering, trades, and technology sectors. This event also provides the opportunity for these future innovators to participate in hands-on workshops.

Distantly is a full-scale digital event platform that was developed in direct response to requests from the industry for a tool that would aid in their migration to virtual events. It has been purpose-built to provide all the benefits of an in-person event on an advanced virtual platform that is specifically designed to be user-friendly and remarkably effective. Distantly supports online events of all sizes with such features as live presentations, collaborative online meetings, remote live training workshops, chat functionality, tools for pre-arranging meetings and connecting directly with conference attendees, and marketing/sponsorship management–all backed by secure end-to-end encryption.

Distantly is rapidly becoming a platform of choice for the hosting of virtual conferences and tradeshows, such as the recent execution of GameDev Atlantic 2020. The purpose-built platform will enable Techsploration’s Online Alumnae Conference to provide the same level of interactivity, value, and connectability as in years passed in a virtual setting.

“Attending this conference is an invaluable way for young women to learn about in-demand careers that may not otherwise occur to them: machinists, video game designers, research scientists, welders, survey technicians, aircraft mechanics, and forensic scientists, to name just a few”.

Techsploration’s Interim Executive Director, Emily Boucher

“We are proud to play a part in continuing Techsploration’s initiative, which empowers young women to explore careers in science, trades, engineering, and technology through our virtual event platform. We are pleased that Techsploration selected Distantly as their platform of choice, and we are thrilled to be able to help Atlantic Canada’s current and future innovators continue to make meaningful connections together.”
